Graham Dene

Graham Dene provides the soundtrack to our afternoons. Tune in to The Graham Dene Show every day from 2pm on The Wireless.

Graham provided the soundtrack to so many lives of the people living in the London and South East as the presenter of the Capital Radio Breakfast Show in the heyday of the station.

He quickly established himself as a firm favourite with Londoners and Royalty as he became the favourite DJ of Princess Diana – who even joined him in the studio.

Graham started at the United Biscuits Network, keeping the factory workers going before moving to Radio City in Liverpool, where he was when his big break at Capital came.

Graham subsequently moved to Virgin Radio, as well as hosting the Breakfast Shows for Magic and Smooth Radio in London.

Graham’s knowledge and love of music keeps afternoon listeners to The Wireless entertained and informed!

On his show, he plays songs for people celebrating their birthdays in Anniversary Oldies, as well as some from his own personal record collection.

There’s also a trip down Memory Lane - half an hour of great songs from Graham’s chosen year. Tune in and see if you can guess the year?
